SABA Meeting
at New Delhi

March 8, 2017

New Delhi – Following the Kagyu Monlam in 2016, Karmapa invited the members of the Kagyu Monlam Committee and members of the SABA administration for a one-day meeting at the trust’s headquarter in New Delhi. Karmapa took the opportunity to personally meet and thank the members for their work in organising the Kagyu Monlam since 1996. He pointed out that each member has served the lineage in areas they have specialist knowledge about, out of devotion and respect for the lineage, combined with trust and confidence.

In a round of group talks, every team member introduced themselves, sharing his/her experience and challenges they have faced over the past years. It was a very open and vivid exchange, foremost in the discussion were the senior members of the committee, for instance Lama Tsultrim Tobgye, who shared his many years of experience. He encouraged everybody and gave valuable advice and support, particularly for the new members. The chairperson, Mr. Tsering Dondrup, used the occasion to give a detailed summary of the last Monlam and directed the focus of the participants on the preparations and organisation of the upcoming Monlam event 2017.

The next meeting has been scheduled for June 2017 in Kalmpong, during the week long ceremonies with regard to the 3rd anniversary of the Paranirvana of Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche.
